That is so true about the bonding experience, he will always remember them. I remember all my fishing trips with my dad. He never took me hunting, but did take me to target practice.

Thanks everyone; I read the threads (well most of them

) to my son. He's so proud and can't wait to go again this weekend. They are actually trying for a buck but this just happen to pass by. And yes my son actually shot it; he will be 9 in January. I honestly feel getting children into hunting and fishing with the family is the healthiest thing you can do for your children. Hunting is a way of life were we live so most of his friends hunt also. My daughter is 7 and loves to fish; she'll be fishing tournaments with my husband next year. We do only kill deer that we plan to eat; if we have a freezer full and it's a nice buck we will make sure the meat goes to someone.
