My speckled sussex rooster named Mack...Warning! Pic heavy!

Yes that's what everyone has been saying but do roosters "tuck" their heads when they sleep/ roost????
I thought they don't and this one does..but either way......it is suspicious for a roo to me too.

I think they quit tucking their head as they get bigger and bulkier- my black orp roo still tucks his head but he is only about 12 weeks old.

Great pictures! It's good to see what my little 5 week old Speckled Sussex will look like all grown up. I've never had this breed before, they are sweet so far. All but 1 of the pullets comes right up to me in the coop and lets me pick them up. I am enjoying watching them grow.

Very nice SS's everyone. Here's my baby.

Thanks for all the nice comments! I plan on setting some speckled sussex eggs next Monday. I will keep everyone updated with the hatch and also with pics as they grow after the hatch. I can't wait. This will be my first experience with hatching. I'll need all the support and advice I can get!

Wow that coloring and pattern is stunning! The black irridescense with the white tips is *gorgeous* in combo with that deep chocolaty brown. You should be proud

I guess I hadn't payed attention to the breed much before since I've never seen one in good lighting like that to show off their colors. Thanks for posting!

Buster Now all you need are some BIG buff Orpingtons hens and in a few years you will be on your way to producing Jubilee Orpingtons.

Wouldn't that be great? I have a hard time even finding pics of them right now online. Maybe I'll have to wait until MissPrissy produces some and get some of hers!
