i am tired of getting 'solicitation' e-mails sent to me and my family (including my children).
this morning someone sent me a 'pyramid' program for saving receipts. when i replied and asked how they got my name, they responded, "i sent it to everyone on my aunt's email that she sent us." ugh.
people send me fifteen forwarded jokes etc. a day, but not one personal e-mail. i appreciate the thoughts, but just hide my address! (and i have many friends who send both, and we communicate very much over the net, so i am not 'poo-pooing the forwards)
my 11 year old (whose b'day is today!) told me that she has to get her g'pa to STOP sending her so much stuff, that it is clogging her e-mail.
i am tired of people not using their Bcc option and giving our family e-mail addresses out to the world.
sent this today to my entire list. am i out of my mind or was i inline here?
Good morning my friends and family!
i am sending this e-mail to everyone on my list. it is not directed at one person or group of people in any way.
common courtesy when sending mass e-mail or forwarding messages is to use your Blind Carbon Copy to hide the e-mail addresses of those on the list.
click on your Bcc option to do so. if you are still not sure on how to do it, i am more than happy to walk you through it.
i have received numerous e-mails from people i don't know trying to sell me things and what-not that got our addresses from e-mails sent from friends and family. any time you post the addresses openly, anyone who receives that forward sent can access all the e-mails. this is a common courtesy in the internet world that many of us are not aware of or have forgotten, myself included at times.
please respect our (especially our children) safety and privacy. while the intentions are sweet and fun, our children are getting mass e-mail and we are being sent things from sources we don't know and have also dealt with a virus sent this way.
thank you and God bless!
sorry for the long rant. i am usually not a ranter, but gimme a break!!!!!
