I got her at a hatchery in Ontario. I emailed them and they said 'very unusual' and asked how many hours of light they are getting. But they are free rangers and at night in the coop the lights are off.
Yeah they all came in the same batch, day old chicks. And they all looked pretty much exactly the same, the BSL. I guess it was an early bloomer! She is certainly acting like the Queen of the coop. But as a chick was very shy. She feels heavier than the others. Must just have developed faster!
Yesterday was 13 weeks and 2 days since I got them as day olds. Very weird!!
She was definitely confused as to what was happening to her. She didn't even make it back to the coop before she dropped the egg, she was acting like she had a case of the runs, lol. And then she ran into the nesting box like something bad had just happened, at around 12:30pm. I was glad I got to watch the whole thing because I never would have figured out the egg came from her!
