My Sussex chickens health

A healthy bird:

Bright eyes without any sign of swelling, discharge, squinting, or cloudiness
Normal breathing without clicking, gasping, crackling, or discharge from the mouth or nost
Normal eating and drinking, a crop that empties when they are taken off food but is full when food is offered
Sturdy legs without a limp and the scales on the legs are smooth and not crusty
A bright comb and wattles (unless in molt, broody or young)
No bald patches, missing feathers, or ragged appearance (certain ages, breeds, and the molt can look unhealthy but really isn't)
The vent should be clean (most chickens have a little dirt or droppings there, but it shouldn't look gross)
Droppings should be well formed and not green
Behavior should be alert, even flighty, certainly not hunched up with wings drooping, tail tucked, head pulled in, or feathers ruffled
There should be no signs of worms, mites, or lice

Unhealthy bird:
Hunched up, ruffled feathers, mucus on the eyes or nose, coughing or sneezing, swollen face, foul smelling crop, bald patches, pale comb and face, audible breathing, loose or green droppings, staying away from the rest of the flock, limping or a wing hanging, disinterest in food or water, moving slowly or stiffly, straining, lumps, bumps or scabs on the body, in the mouth or on the face/comb.

Hope this helps.
