My thoughts on heaters for chooks...

Last winter we had a couple months where we burned through $1,200-$1,300 per month.

I got the oil filled heater at home Depot. I also bought one of those realistic electric flame woodstoves. But that's for us not the chickens. I'm sure they'll want one too when they see it.

Yikes.. That's way to much $$ for me. Our house is about 2400sq ft.. I guess I shouldn't complain, you burn more fuel in winter than we do all year. We can go almost a year on one tank of propane. Our typical monthly utility costs (propane included) is around $125. I'm glad my house is well insulated and framed out in 2x6.. It's paying off.
