With temps in the 70s today, I moved the pullets to their interim coop, which will be their full-time residence if my yearling chickens don’t take to them in time. They huddled in a nesting box for a long while, and never left the coop to explore their run. I think they came out of the nesting box at the sound of my yearling chickens nearby while out for their evening free-ranging time. I seem to remember reading that young pullets should be confined to their coop for a few days before being introduced to their run so that they’ll come in on their own each night. Is that true or am I misremembering? In any case, they chose not to venture out and that was probably just as well.
