We have 37....6 week old chicks.
They went outside last week at 5 week old.~Yeah

Picked out 12 Barred Rocks, 12 Black Australorps, 6 Rhode Island Reds
all from Meyers Hatchery and 5 Silver Laced Wyandottes from TSC.
Built a temporary pen and will be constructing a permanent one
although they will be free ranging most of the time.

Then we have to split them between our two coops, that should be fun.
You can check out my page to check the progress and how chicken math worked on us.

Those are pretty birds you got there! The rolling coop will be great once done. How much work do you have to get it up to specs? You are soon gonna be egg poor.

Hello! I am from New Castle as well and just got some chicks. Have you had any issues with having chickens in our town? I can't find anything online about what restrictions, if any. Just wondering if you could tell me anything about this. Love all your pictures!

I'm in Shenango township, not sure about the rules and regulations, we live on 16 acres so I figured I'de just go for it.
[We pay enough taxes]

In the city of New Castle not sure.
There are a lot of very educated people here who know how to research the laws, I on the other hand do not.

My babies are 7 weeks old and this is their first night without a light, I', going to have to go check on them.....
