My trip to ACE HARDWARE!

Humm...well, next time I go to town for provisions...I'll make a more diligent effort at getting it from them. I'll have to ask someone to *look into it*.

I hate to tell people their jobs but...I guess these people NEED to be told their jobs.

...and I am just the Mexican to do it too!

Another thing that happened there...when I first thought of getting chickens, I'd heard you could order them through that Ace Hardware. I asked one of the cashiers (young kid) if they were getting any chicks for sale that Spring. He looked at me and started to laugh and said, "dude I wish!" I laughed with him a bit then said,

"No, really...are you getting any chicks? I want to get some CHICKENS!"

You could clearly see the light go ON and he said, "OH! I don't know..." He did ask someone nearby and she said they normally did but wasn't sure about this year, blah, blah, blah...and to check again later!

He was telling her that he thought I was asking if they sold chicks and she said...that's against the law in some parts isn't it?

They both laughed.

KIDS!

Why do these things always happen to me?

Paganfish, that's the time you dig out the obsidian dagger and commit a lovely human sacrifice on the register...

I had a person asking for cat relaxers and I can't leave the register so I told them in the cat remedy aisles, about 4 down on the right hand side, IF we have any... said customer got them in the dog dept...

I know where almost everything in the store is, generally.

If I can't find it, I'll call someone over...you're right, though, futurechickenman, they love to treat you like you're an idiot and that they had to do all the work themselves.

I can usually tell by the look on the workers face if they have a clue what they are talking about. When I first switched to layer feed TSC was out at the moment. I asked the cashier if they had anymore and she asked way I needed it? OKAY as Bill Engval (sp?) would say "heres your sign".

I told her why I needed it anyways and she says "oh I think all feed is the same, theres really no difference". I didn't have the patience to explain and I told her she really shouldn't give advice or answer questions when she doesn't know what shes talking about. I said if theres no difference why do you suppose they make starter feed and layer feed? just to confuse us chicken folk I spose

Good for you! I tend to be very sarcastic (can you tell?) and so my comments often leave people wondering if I had just offended them (because, "darn! It sure sounds like it!") as I am walking away. LOL!

I will look online to see if I can find it. Thanks for all your help.

Feels like Spring!!! I am starting to worry about this global warming crap! UGH!

i hate home despot.

at walmart, they are too overwhelemd to wait on you and understaffed and undertrained.

at home despot, they can, but won't.

it's so weird. i used to hate going into hardware stores in the old days because of all the testosterone, but at least they knew what they were talking about!

isnt' there a happy medium? a female friendly store that actually can provide solid advice and service?

there is one feed store i've found that may shape up to be that place.

What I do to reduce head aches. Is find what I want, go and ask for product telling absolute NO reason what I want it for, and I get it right away. Helps to have a picture of the product from the website and the dept it is in too :p
