My turn for day 18! **Day 20 Update-Pips**

Here's my update for this evening. When I got home there were six chicks in the bator. There are 5 Blue Orp/Buffs and one americana. The sixth Blue Orp/buff is in the egg with a considerable size hole. I chipped some of the egg shell and it is moving around quite well so I put it back to hatch on its own.

The Millie Fluer eggs are on day 20 and one has pipped for sure and maybe a second one. Not sure if it is a crack or a small black hair from the chicks! I took some pictures but the red heat lamp is making them turn out pretty bad.

The little americana is so cute and friendly. I think I have a favorite already!

I woke up this morning and have the cutest little Mille Fluer with feathers on her feet and at least three more that have pipped!

However, the last blue orp/brama isn't doing too good. Last night beginning of day 23 for that egg, I watched and he was very alive but couldn't seem to move around to zip the egg. Before going to be I decided to just help crack the shell a little. The membrane was dry with no blood at all. The chick seemed to be able to get out if he wanted so I left it in the bator. This morning he is out but there was a problem. The yolk appears to have been stuck at the bottom of the egg. It didn't absorb into the chick all the way. The chick has what looks like a red mass hanging from his rear...smaller than a dime. At first it couldn't even stand up. Now it is standing up although not real good...kind of like its head is heavy. It is peeping and very lively. I'm hoping that the red part will dry up and fall off but I am concerned about the chick not having enough yolk to live off of and to give him energy.

Keep your fingers crossed for this little guy (or gal)!
