Pullet. My BO pullet looks just like her! She is also more skittish than the others and I worried she was a roo, but she started squatting this week and I'm hoping for an egg soon
I say pullet, mine had even bigger and brighter comb and waddles at 16 weeks. She gave me her first egg at 18 weeks. I tend to take the wait and see approach. I had a lot of people say mine looked like a cockerel and some others say pullet. I decided to wait until I got an egg or she really started to act like a he. I am glad I waited.
Thanks everyone! I think Big Buffy did lay an egg yesterday and today-my son fried-up yesterdays egg and even though it was small-it had a double yoke-he said it was delicious!
It was a rounder shape and didn't have any little speckles, like the eggs Fawkes-my Golden Comet is laying. Now if those seven other ladies would just get busy!
Big Buffy's double yoke and Fawkes's single cooking up in the pan! A good sight to see after all this work.
Oh, I'm so happy for you. I ended up with a roo out of our first batch of four and it was REALLY tough to give him away. So I'm so happy yours ended up being a girl.
