MY chickens follow me around if I have food or not, fall asleep in my lap and follow me into the house! And I never have food!

my chickens get underfoot nonstop, because they want food, they jump in my lap and stage a sleep in till they get food, and follow me into the house and poop everywhere till i give them food so they will leave.
I never have food because the chickens have cleaned me out.
