Some features of my 8x8 coop. It stands 8ft with a 30in shaded area underneath. The run is 8ft tall, 8 ft wide and 10ft long; total length is 18 ft)
I have dual waterers

A view of the inside waterer setup (4 poultry nipples on a 30 inch pipe) the hardware cloth is to prevent roosting.

the 3 roosting bars with my easter eggers! (we started with 4 and now have almost 30. this includes a few roosters waiting to be sold at local flea market.)

The nesting box hangs outside on the shady side for easy reach. The ventilation registers were added to help crossflow of air.

List of still to be completed tasks:
Build a door for run
Build a partial roof/ wire roof for the run
Build hardware cloth coop door inserts (for super hot, but rain-free summer days)
Install a box fan w/ air filter (saw on pintrest)
solar powered interior lights
a chicken web cam (for my obsessive bird watching)
landscaping a hardy bush for coop run shade
landscape rocks for surrounding my palace to deter neighborhood dogs from digging

Result 8-11 eggs per day from my 14 laying hens (10 more pullets should be laying in next 3mos.

Leave suggestions or questions! Thanks BYC
