My unknown free feed store chicks identified.

I've been trying to find out what these little darlings are and went to the Farwest Hatchery and Cackle Hatchery sites and there were exact pictures of my girls down to their blue legs. They are called Austra White Chickens. A cross between a Black Australorp Rooster and a White Leghorn Hen. Supposed to be a heavier calm breed - less flighty - excellent layer of cream/white egs 250/yr.
Mystery solved!!!!! Now I can move on to more pressing issues. Like - I didn't know chickens could suck. Watched my young Australorp go at a little worm - peck - peck - sucked it right down.

For some great entertainment, boil them up some string spaghetti...cut it into smaller pieces and throw give it to them...it is tons of free fun
