my very own micro farm

One day my boss said she would give me a couple of chickens, I told her I wanted two, and told my husband the same thing. Came home with 4. Oops! My husband learned about chicken math at that moment.

There's always room for more chickens.

Just dumped 8 5gal buckets of restaurant supplied compost on my pile. And the chickens were all over it. I don't think they'd ever turn down a chance to scratch in it. This was actually all part of my devious plan to further integrate Rosco into the flock.

I've moved him to the big pen while the girls were distracted and He'll stay there until I go to work. I figure a few days of that will get him used to that area as their sleeping space. Would just hate for him to run off when I finally let him out.
Also brought some green onion cuttings home from work to start regrowing

. Little suckers grow fast. Cut these two days ago and they've been in this Togo container since and are already protruding from the cut edge. Going to use my porch as a greenhouse til fairer weather.

@nayeli sharing in general and BYC itself our both fairly new things for me. The community is great here and BYC seemed the simplest sum of all the information I initially started out looking for. Now it blossoms with opportunity, like your aforementioned blogging as just one example, for all that I look forward to accomplishing in the future. Your work is great and takes some dedication and time. For now I will remain on these threads buried deep within the ethernet sharing my random day to days.

The hen is a greenleg kelso x swedish flower. Thinks she's the rooster, even has spurs. That should change when Rosco gets to come out. That'll be tomorrow by the way. Going to slip him in with the girls tonight when i get off work and hope for the best come morning.
I havent moved him over for the day time quite yet. That guy sure does know when its morning tho, been getting up early now everyday for the last week. Just a little earlier than normal today so I'm taking it easy for a few before I start the day.
And that was oatmeal and raisins they were eating. They love it on cold mornings especially. I think they like the raisins more. Like watching a little kid picking em out of a bowl of cereal, then they eat the rest.
