my very own micro farm

Had to crawl under my house this morning. Running the tub last night as I was getting things ready for dinner and I came back to water filling the bathroom floor. Not only was it all over the bathroom but coming through the wall to the bedroom closet. Ripped out the dresser and got a Heater going in there and soaked up all the water. Well this morning I made the plunge to discover the pipe to the tub was barely together and a huge mass of gross was on the side of it. Removed said mass reinserted pipe and lodged in by a 2x4 to the ground. Something more permanent will have to happen soon but it's fixed fr now. And I didn't spend 200$ on a plumber. Gotta love that can do and gumption. Lol.

Morning.

I once had a bottle of dish soap as an integral structural portion of my kitchen sink's drain plumbing. I knew I'd be replacing the whole sink within 6 months and didn't want to spend the money to fix it properly. Yay for innovation!

I've got 21 seven week old chicks: one BR, two WR, 3 Dominiques, 3 New Hampshires, 6 BOs, and 6 Golden Buffs.

Several more shipments of chicks scheduled of lots of different breeds, but I wanted to get my primary egg-layers early in the season so they would start producing. Unless I barter some chickens away, I think I'll end up with about 70 or so including roos.

Shipment/pickup this summer of three Toulouse geese and 15 keets (Pearl, Lavender, and Royal Purple) to use for intruder alerts and tick control. Likely will be getting a few Nigerian goats at about that time as well if I get the fences built for them in time. The geese and goats will likely be sharing foraging space.

Building my main coop right now, 8x16' but am building it in such a way so that I'll be able to add onto it easily. Progress so far:
700

Ambitious! I like it :) your going to have quite a colorful assortment running around. The build looks great so far, I dig the modular idea, wish I had taken that much consideration with my first coop. Love and learn right. Glad your following the thread and look forward to seeing your progress. It's always motivational.

Onwards and upwards
