my very own micro farm

Well, I came on this forum and learned about chicken math (obviously it hit me hard, early) and how everyone always wished they had built bigger coops, so I just took that into consideration when planning. Unfortunately, I got a nasty case of bronchitis right when the chicks arrived or the coop would already be done and my chicks would be outside enjoying the unseasonably warm weather right now. Ah well. Off here to go build the trusses!

I know all to well about being down and out mid project, tho it's been a long time since I've had bronchitis. Always happy to jump right back into it as soon as I can.

So I missed my weekly egg guy last Sunday, he came into lunch to ask my girl if I had left eggs. Lol. Hooked. Now all I need is a few more of those and I can completely stop paying for feed out of pocket. Still averaging about a dozen a day, some days are better than otheresas always.
Need to get some more time in on Roscoe's spurs and start getting everything ready for our coast trip this year. We'll be gone for 4ish days. The ducklings should hatch the dayish we leave if she remains on them the duration of the time. The new girls last season were a little sloppy with it so we'll see.

Weather's improved greatly, out to start my day.

Picked up another fan for the incubator, it's a duplicate of the first. I'll run each from opposite corners to really get the airflow going. Maybe enough time to install it tonight and get everything wired in. I have two different rated adaptors so I'll see which can run both. I did get a bead of silicone in the seams of the interior before work today, should be well set now. About to bring everything up onto the porch to see what I can get done.

Good luck. You have come a long way! Can you imagine how much a bator like that will go for... Can't wait to see how well it holds temps and humidity.
it was running on my porch last night. Without watercups humidity seems steady around 30%, temps all reading 99-100 this morning. I'll check my high/lows but I should run it for a full 24 to be more accurate with them. I am happy overall with the build but there are many little things I would do differently. Wouldn't be a bad business if I got efficient at it. Even some of the mini name brands cost more than this, that is excluding time of course but it's not work when it's fun so you know.

Inclement weather iminant. Out to cover up essentials.

If it can handle staying on the porch then there it will stay. I'd prefer this but there is a space in the pantry for it if temps don't hold. Still won't be running it for production for at least a month so I have time to play with it.

Whites built a box to keep his bator in to be able to keep it outside.. Not sure of the concept but you should know pretty quickly if it holds. I did all my planting today!!
