My own eggs, thinking of it as a control group. Trying to sort out where my issues are with the incubator. I won't need to open the bator at all this time for the water wells, hurray for tubes. I'll trade out bulbs around day ten to keep them fresh, these were two of my main issues.

Ohh good. Your own eggs are easier to hatch. It's hard to tell what's wrong with your bator when you do shipped eggs cause you really can't tell how they were handled through shipping. I highly recommend candling though... The aircells can tell you so much about your bator. I don't agree with the hands free method... But either way, good luck!!!!

I'd considered weighing them but I will try to track growth through the aircells this time around. I have my hatchabatch app set for reminders so we'll see.

Looks like 5 ee 1 bantam and a kelso cross but not 100% on that yet.

Been a busy week with alot to catch up on. Brunch early tomorrow and ts a holiday weekend, gonna be a busy one.
Work on the dresser. Misses brought home a bunch of plants. Some herbs, peppers, squas and melons and half a dozen citranella plants to start some form of mosquito home defense. Chefs special we ran was a hit. And i still need to update on the food thread about that. its late, time to turn in, more to catch up on with time. Until then.

Momma hen and chicks. 7 was the lucky number. Found two late hatchers partly smothered and stuck by the imbilicus to the inside of the shell after i got home from work yesterday, couldnt let them suffer. 3 more eggs to topsy this afternoon.

Another couple days until the next broody hatches too.
Tis the season i guess.

So this morning I was out looking at the new chicks with the Misses and didn't see the bantam running around, took me a minute to realize the little bugger was buried in the bare spot on its moms back. Complete master blaster status, I mean this little chick is all about it. I know all little chicks innately hop on their moms backs but this one takes the cake.
It's the little things that make you smile.

Oh ya, another bantam just hatched under the next broody. Heralding the way for the rest. Havent seen it yet but the shell was pushed out
