I know! It could be a bummer to leave your chickens. I will have to do the same in a year or two, depending on when I feel like it is good to graduate. There is no rush in graduating with pre-med because grade matters more than your graduation year : )
Anyhow, doing community college and transferring later on is good...but you must do your BEST if you want to transfer to a good University. Like mines, the avg. acceptance of transfers is 2% out of state of California, meaning, you must be the top 5% (@ least!) in your community college in order for the university to take you in. If the university must take in students, they would rather pick incoming high-potential high school seniors rather than transfers for reasons I cannot discuss publicly.
So...I had friends that got stuck now just because they wanted to save about 5-8 thousands in two years. Its not worth it because now they have to apply to another university that takes in a larger percentage of transfers or have to wait for another year.
Those are just a few things to think about...
