My White Mandarins have arrived

Quote:
Hi Scott, Sorry no photos but all it is right now is a fully enclosed 8' X 24' by 6' high pen - just the ground for the floor - Mandarins don't make a muddy mess like the rest of the ducks do. I have a few branches for them to fly up onto and some nest boxes they like to sit on too. I will be adding a 4' X 8' X 4' high hut on one end of the pen as we have real severe winters - If I don't think they are weathering well, I will move them into a heated shop but everyone I have talked to think they will weather our winters just fine. Two of my regular colored hens are also split to white and I do know one of those did have some white ducklings this past spring. I hope I can get these to hatch a few. I don't think I will get another drake as both of these hens are 2009 models and I have read that not all will lay their first year. We will just hope for the best for a good hatch here and also for you down your way.

Wow, how beautiful are they!!!! You're so lucky!!

Would color ducklings would you get if the whites and regular colors breed together?

split to white , and if you breed split to white to a nother split to white some will come out white and the others will be normail colour

So they just come out normal coloration no light different colors...That just facsinates me how there genes work.
