See what I did there?

For those that don't know me, I'm Amy from australia and I thought it was time I stopped hijacking other threads and make my own thread to share my lovely birds. I invite you all to share your flock with me here, and some light hearted chit chat. Here's some snaps of my happy flock
There are 4 pekin, 3 indian runners, 3 cayugas, 1 muscovy, a RIW, 2 australorps and a silkie bantam. Plus a newly hatched pekin duckling named Cookie!

Breakfast time today. Thought I would give a proper introduction to Pompom (Silkie) who actually hatched out the 2 Australorp pullets in October, along with 2 roos who have been rehomed.

And Lucky, the not so Lucky Ducky, my runted muscovy. She was also an October hatch, but due to (a number of) accidents she has permanently stunted in growth. She's indestructible and always in the wrong place at the wrong time.

So I want to share a project with you all. Its something I've thought would look cool for awhile but today I decided to google it. I would love a flock of runners with the cayuga colourings! And I think I may have the birds to do it. From what I've gathered I would have to put my Blue runner drake over my Cayuga hen, get 50% blue (which would be 25% male and 25% female) and 50% black (again 25% male and 25% female). But if I put my cayuga drake over my Brown or white runner I get black bibbed and the quality of the sheen is lost. And also it appears once something is black bibbed everything to follow is black bibbed. BUT, and its a big but, my runner drake is crested which I don't really want as a trait passed on. I don't understand the crested gene enough to know if the cayuga would cancel it out. But anyway while I continue to research this is the result I hope to one day achieve
