When every my 7 month old BR roo goes into my shed that I keep my feed he squats down on the floor and makes tittering noises. He does this weather I'm in the shed or not. Anyone know why he would be doing this?

Ah hah. It sounds very much like he has decided your shed is a great place for them to make a nest to hatch his babies. Good roosters love to try to tell their girls where to lay. They will usually ignore him though!

Tidbitting, or calling when a rooster has found something good to eat, has a different sound to when a rooster indicates a good nest spot. The squatting down thing is part of it.

But there is nothing on the floor and when he calls the girls outside he does not squat down.

The first time I found my roo sitting in a dark corner making insistent noises I thought he had gone crazy and decided he wanted to lay an egg! But it turned out he was just trying to boss the ladies around. Roosters love to control everything their hens do, from what they eat to where they sleep. Mini control freaks.
