My young son just dropped an incubated egg on day 19 :(

Chick is still alive! Still in what's left of the egg, and still covered my the membrane. I can see him 'breathing' and can hear him chirp. The membrane is still soft, but I'm keeping a close eye on it. I have not opened the bator since placing that egg back inside. My humidity is sitting right at 58%. I have other eggs rocking now, and my first chick hatched yesterday morning. He's still in the bator. I'm taking him out tonight to put in the box. He hatched on day 19, which is what prompted my son to get overly excited :) So far so good though! I'm hoping he makes it!

He's still hanging in there!! I've had to moisten the membrane once so far, he seemed to like the touch. :) plus we've had 4 more hatch! Total of 5 have hatched now. I did lose one yesterday, he started to hatch while I was at work and got stuck, he was dead when I got home, so sad! He was very big too, plus hadn't absorbed all his yolk sac yet.

The dropped egg: how badly is it cracked? If it's broken up much, you may need to help him out when the time comes. When I was a girl, I had a broody step on an egg and mangle it pretty bad. I had to help the chick out because the cracked shell did not allow the chick to adequately move to complete the zip. Good luck.

He's out!! The membrane was sticking to him and he couldn't get out himself, he absorbed all his yolk sac so I got him out. He's now resting in the bator. So far so good!! The other chicks are out and in the box, they get a kick out of pecking the sides. :) hopefully this little guy makes it!
