Mysteriously Disappearing Eggs + No Hatches

Yes, she did pass. When I was sleeping she jumped out of the box and on my bed, and I suffocated her. Well, that was an awful hatch. :(

We all have horrible hatches and although I am sorry it was so bad use it as a learning tool for next time. What kind of box was she is that she could 1) get out of the box and 2) get into your bed? I'm sorry it was a bad experience for you.

The box was short because I didn't expect her to become active so fast. The box was also super close to my bed. What makes me really sad is that she just wanted to be with her mumma. :'(

Its ok :hugs we all learn from our mistakes. Almost Everyone whos hatched has had accidental deaths. Our first broody hatched one chick and i accidently stepped on it. It happens to everyone. Dont feel bad.

X2!!!

Dont say tht. After the chick passed after me stepping on him all i wanted was more chicks. When we finally got a broody i counted every day and we got three wonderful chicks. Does your local feed store have ducklings i think you need a little comfort

We actually did get a 9-week old bunny. Luckily bunnies imprint like ducks, but they don't follow thyou around or think you're mom since they're mammals. We might try hatching more ducks next year with a real incubator, but we might get rid of Cheese and Quackers since they are literally crazy. When she's not going to become broody, she lays her eggs in the pond. Is there any way to stop that?
