Mystery Backyard mix - what IS this? Sex?

A bit young to accurately sex. I see nothing that points to cockerel at this point. Post updated pics at 6 weeks.

It's definitely a Crested Cream Legbar mix, probably with an Olive Egger just based on the crest, feathered legs, and breeds that are listed. I agree that it's too young to sex accurately at the moment, but Legbars can have large combs so it might still be a pullet. Let the feathers grow in some and see if the comb develops any more over the next couple weeks and it should be a bit easier to tell.

I think if it's a cockerel, by the next 2-4 weeks there's a real good chance you'll be able to tell for sure. I know it's hard to wait but just post pictures on this thread and we'll see if we can help you.

Many chickens have "wattles" dangling under the chin.
A duck "waddles" when it walks.

And I like to eat "waffles", but you are right that your chick will not develop any of those
