Hi! This is Phoebe, our bantam chick who was born around October 5th. We have no idea what breed of chicken she is. If anyone figures it out, can you figure out if she’s a cockerel or a pullet, please?

Nothing screaming cockerel just yet for approximately 6 weeks old if my calculations on hatch date are correct. It may still be a bit early and late bloomers may yet show themselves as cockerels. Watch for red comb or wattles in the next two weeks for indicators.

Looks like possibly an Easter Egger (non bearded).. or maybe Cornish.. Juvenile plumage is likely still changing to its' full color. Looks like a pea comb to me.

Did you hatch at home or know which hatchery it came from? That can help narrow down breed possibilities.

We did not hatch it at home, we bought it at Atwoods from a bantam straight run bin.
