Nice photos of a pretty bird!
What hatchery was she from?i’ll definitely keep you posted on what kind of eggs she ends up laying!
when i emailed the hatchery, i specifically asked if they carried Sapphire Gems — they don’t… it’s such an odd thing!
i just keep telling myself that she’s 100% chicken!![]()
Mt. Healthy HatcheryWhat hatchery was she from?
thank you!Nice photos of a pretty bird!
i thought this same thing at one point but, her feet aren’t yellow — i’m raising her with Black Jersey Giants so, i can definitely compare the feet colors!she`s a pretty bird! She looks quite a bit like my Blue Jersey Giant pullets. They have the typical slightly yellow bottoms of their feet.
She could be a Rhode Island Blue or a Blue Rock!Mt. Healthy Hatchery
this is the best guess i have!I wonder if she was an "oops"— a mutt?
i have a blue olive egger — she’s clean legged though. She could be a Rhode Island Blue or a Blue Rock!
They do also have Blue Olive Eggers but they usually have a few feathers on their legs.
I have a Rhode Island blue from them and she looks very similar. Their strain can be all blue/black, or blue/black w some red neck leakage. If you look on their website you will see a few possibilities in the pictures! Because Blue Rocks & RIB are mixes, they won’t all look exactly the same. RIB lay brown eggs and BR lay more of a cream color. Once she lays hopefully you will have an answer! Green? Brown? Cream? Will be following to find out the mystery!i have a blue olive egger — she’s clean legged though.
she lays me a beautiful olive egg!
i’ll know more about this pullet when she lays her first few eggs!
i know someone who purchased a couple of Rhode Island Blues from the same place at the same time and they look nothing alike.
i have no clue on the Blue Rock — i’ll have to Google info on those!
thank you!!!
