As with Che, Polish x Ameraucana cross. I think Koh might even have inherited a smaller version of the headdress...

Last but not least.

As you can probably tell from the hovering hand in several pics, Lu made some very successful attempts at mounting an escape mid photo-shoot. (S)he's fast!
Same as Brenn.

Thank you everyone for your replies! To summarize the input so far:

Asa - likely Australorp x Ameraucana cross, though also several votes for French Copper Maran x Ameraucana cross. Given the egg color, Australorp seems more likely unless that was one pale laying Maran. As to mischief, how did you know :)? Though thus far Che, Koh, and Irri are the most prone to attempting adventures :p.

Brenn - Lavender Orp in a weird egg? Adorable fluffball :jumpy.

Che - The world's weirdest looking Polish x Ameraucana cross?

Dani - Lavender Orp 1.

El - Lavender Orp 2.

Frida - Maran x Ameraucana cross vs Cream Legbar in a strangely dark egg?

Henri - Same as Frida.

Irri - Lavender Orp 3.

Koh - No votes yet.

Lu - No votes yet.

Thank you again everyone!!

Polish can come in White Crested Blue. I wonder if that's what color the mother was? It might explain the color of the chick.

Koh - No votes yet.
Lu - No votes yet.

Koh--supposed to be Polish x Ameraucana, I'm guessing the Polish was Gold Laced.

Do you know anything about the color of the Ameraucana rooster? Because that might make it easier to sort out which chick traits would have to come from the mother.

Lu--I'm thinking this chick is either lavender, blue, or splash-- but it will probably become more obvious as she/he grows. A few of the possible mother breeds COULD come in blue (French blue copper maran, blue australorp), and of course there could be some other breed that didn't make the list. This one's definitely a real puzzle right now.

Ah ha. That makes sense. I don't think Che inherited the headdress though (I'm not sad about this, they will be at least part time free range and the headdress looks a tad impractical...).

Just looked that up. Pretty! (S)he does have some gold mixed in with the black.

No clue, but I've put the question to the lady I got them from so hopefully will hear back. Honestly, I assumed they all looked the same until I looked up adult Ameraucanas just now and was amazed by the variation! I am a chicken newb...

Another case of me not even realizing a given breed came in a different color, in this case Copper Marans. That suddenly makes a lot of sense given the brown flecked coloration of the eggs.

Thanks for your input!

Turns out she has two Ameraucana roosters, one splash and one white with copper accents. I think the mystery of all the blue/splash chicks (Lu, Brenn, and Che) is officially solved 🙂.
