Hi all, I had a free chick added to the ones I picked up because it was a mystery. It was hatched from eggs in her polish and silkie pen. I grabbed 3 nice looking polish chicks. (Not show birds, just fun pets) And she gave us another one we couldn’t figure out. Solid black, with a little feathering on the feet, 4 toes, Legs are kinda thick. She has some Ayam Cemani and Brahmas in a different pens. Thoughts? (Hatched 3/15)

Thanks! So you do agree it looks more like a Cemani mix? I’m very curious how this one will turn out.

Yes. It has no crest, no beard and no 5th toe, which makes me think there is no Silkie in it despite the dark skin. A Cemani/Brahma cross ticks all the boxes for this chick. It will be interesting to see how it develops.
