She doesn't look like my Welsummers. Mine have much more color contrast between their gold hackles , salmon breast and brown bodies. .

I know it has been years now, but this was an Easter Egger rooster from the looks of it. The green feet are a dead giveaway.

Actually SHE remained a mystery... feed store hatchery mutt mishap sold as a wyandotte. Her personality was similar to a wyandotte, but that was about it. Way too petite and slender to be a wyandotte mix even. I bred her to my very handsome BLR Wyandotte and her (now grown) baby looks just like her. She was an excellent layer of large brown eggs. Looking back at her chick photos, I would have bet money that she was a roo. Those slow to develop tail feathers and the thick legs are dead give away. But this reminds me that you just don't know until the crow or the egg.
