Mystery Chicken Death.

One morning I went out to let my chickens out and I saw my Columbian Wyandotte on her back dead. I looked to see for any external injuries but found none.
We have had a case of foul pocks before but I didn't see any signs of it coming back. She was three years old so I don't think she died of old age.
Not counting her, I have a flock of 7. Do you have any ideas of why she died?

It is not uncommon to lose a chicken. Usually they will show some signs of illness, but sometimes we may not notice the signs. If you lose another, try to get a necropsy, but first refrigerate the body promptly, and contact your state vet or poultry lab. Keep an eye on the rest for signs of not acting right, runny poops, crops not emptying, or any lice or mites under the vent and elsewhere. Make sure they are eating and drinking normally. Sorry for your loss.
