Do you have any pics of the Big red guy as a chick? Maybe a Welsummer? the bearded one is for certain an Easter Egger cockerel

Hatchery chickens, regardless of posted breed, are kinda like a box of chocolates—you may never know what you’re going to get; especially if they’re listed in the pretty breed names. Breeds may have been those breeds, but with the lack of careful breeding, you know how it goes.

We too ended up with chicks from Rural King and all I can say is that the EEs (they were listed as Ameraucanas) are crazy as skinny dipping in Arctic lakes in January. That being said, they too are on the small side; though with hatcheries not following strict guidelines, weights and sizes are all the place.

On the plus side, your boys are sweet! That is an amazing thing right there!

They are good natured. Have no idea if my Americauna is truly one from what i have read about hatcheries. He is beautiful and as huge as the Easter Egger is small.

He's an Easter Egger, not Ameraucana the red guy I'm not sure, although he doesn't look like a Welsummer! I don't have experience with Asian blacks, that could very well be it!

Americauna. Not sure what he is. One pic had all three. Main roo is very much multicolored but not red. His lady is a golden brown

Is the big guy an Americauna. The multicolored one. What do you call his coloring. The big multicolored looks very different than the mystery roo in first post. Thought maybe my big guy Americauna and the other small roo with ear muffs easter egger runt. They are not shaped the same at all.
Partridge Rock and Heritage Rhode Island Red pics similar to Big Red. His black tail feathers are greenish black And but feathers are soft black.

He’s also an Easter egger. They look different because Easter eggers aren’t bred to a standard, so have a lot of genetic variety.
