Mystery chickens donated to us

Well, you say it was the 1st week of May that the eggs showed up in the classroom, hatching time is 21 days, so sometime near the end of May they must have hatched... That would make them about 7 to 8 weeks old now I think... maybe 9 if they wasted no time starting them.

They hatched at either the end of April, beginning of May. No idea when they actually got the eggs, so I dont know the incubation process. The kids didn't remember and the teacher didn't tell me. But they were at least 4 week old chicks when they came home June 9th.

Well, looks like the chickens answered the question for me as of 4:40am today. FOUR of them were crowing! I had to put them in their coop and lock the door before the neighbors woke up, but now I have to figure out what to do with them asap. I thought I would have more time.
1. Any ideas what to do with these guys? I had posted on FB and craigslist a few days ago to rehome one of them that I was pretty sure would be a rooster, but I haven't had any responses yet. And now I have 4! Yikes.
2. Stupid question, but does the age of the chicken start in the egg or once they are hatched? Since they hatched either last week of April or first week of May (the kids weren't sure and the teacher that gave them to us didn't tell me), it seems a little early for them to be crowing?
