X2American game fowl. Beautiful birds.
these are not big on socialising with other chickens but they dont fight which made me wonder about if they were a game breed .and no the females will fight each other and cock birds too. Don't believe all will be fine together
I only have the hens they were for company for a cockeral ,I wouldnt have a game breed cockeral ,the closest I have to a game breed is a Kraienkoppe bantam trio but hes fine.We have an Avian flu lockdown here so at the moment the different groups arent allowed to mix as much as they normally wouldWhen I had games my hens never fought each other. Now, I had roosters that would kill hens... that did it for me. I gave them back to the person they came from.
wary of getting any game breeds because normally for the most of the year the chickens can free range ,they have their own runs and coops but any than want can fly over the fence and wander in the valley .So all the birds have to either co exist or at least avoid other birds.Especially because I have a lot of bantams and some silkies .Though by far my most argumentive cockeral has been a tiny little watermael so hes only allowed in with big birds nowDo alot of research in raising and housing in gamefowl before you go thinking they will coexist together like regular chickens
I was looking at the rooster link ,I have a lot of roosters ,some have their own coops and ladies and eventually a few of those are for breeding from ,a few non purebreds share a coop and flock of hens with younger cockerals ,which works ok because theres loads of space ,the two at the moment each have a hen they hang around with and the main rooster leaves them be ,But come spring I suspect thats going to change I have ordered extra coops .My little watermael is a terror so hes in with a bigger cockeral to stop him fighting either the cockeral or hens and that seems to have worked quite well.My two peace keeping roosters are huge but very even tempered ,they break up fights between hens and they will have a brawl with any cockeral that bothers one of their hens but if one wanders into their runs and hes not bothering them they just ingore him
they take off like one (,or like a harrier jump jet ,)they dont need any space to get a running start and they can fly just as wellI agree with the previous posts. But to me, they look like helicopters. (Look at those tails)!![]()
That was my point exactly! Enjoy your Air force!they take off like one (,or like a harrier jump jet ,)they dont need any space to get a running start and they can fly just as well![]()
