Mystery Chicks??? Cubalayas???

The bin at The Mercantile said these were Sicilian Buttercup pullets. I pulled out the book and said they look NOTHING like the pics of chicks. They said they called the hatchery and they promise that is what was shipped.

Well, 2 weeks later, these guys are starting to feather out, and REALLY small (now wondering if they are bantams too). I have three here (hope the pics are good enough)

Buttercup (she is the smallest of the 3, and has an orange? neck (on top)

Other Sibling with brown feathering - the small one - the bigger white one is a LB same age.

Do they have split combs? What hatchery did they come from? They may just be reeeeeeeaaaaalllllly bad quality

Privett Hatchery... Of course I can't see nothing on their website..

I don't know anything about combs, yet, but I took a head shot of one so I hope it helps..

Yeah, buttercups look nothing like that. Hard to tell, but that looks like a pea or rose comb.

These guys are about 3 weeks old now.. any other ideas yet as they are feathering out some, and actually growing.

Definitely NOT a buttercup! It doesn't even vaguely resemble one.

It almost looks like the chick is feathering in the mille fleur pattern. No feathered feet, so it's not a D'Uccle.

My guess would be that they are buckeyes.

I have had buckeyes, and buttercups, they aren't either. What they look like to me is sex link roo's (though they usually have a straight comb). The feedstore obviously mixed up the order at some point and miss marked the bins.

My DH has officially dubbed these guys "the triplets" Their mood is finally coming around, along with their size. They aren't AS small compared to the others, but I still have younger ones that are bigger than them. They are about 4 weeks now, and looking really pretty... They still like to "push" around all the bigger ones with their bump chesting... so cute..
