I agree, I'd be making a phone call. Do you have to request a heat pack? I've never ordered from Meyers myself. Most hatcheries just put them in if the weather calls for it. I bet the hatchery would surely do something

Some hatcheries just add extra birds as heat packs - usually cockerel chicks because they are about worthless to their business. I think you should complain as well. The heartache is bad enough but, it is surely their fault.

The hatchery has said they will refund. I'm waiting to see it actually happen before I count on it. They did include a handful of males. I have 4/5 of the males left. The males are the black birds in the pic with the white spot on the head.
