We got to pick up our ducklings from the post office this morning. I was thrilled to find all happy, noisy, spring-loaded babies when we opened the box. We ordered from a hatchery and it looks like the babies were packaged with great care. We ordered 5 anconas and 2 cayugas and received 6 ducks and none of them are cayugas. The package and invoice state that we were shipped 5 anconas.
The duckling I have labeled number 1, I am not sure if it is a mallard or a Rouen and the hatchery sells both. It has both its’ back toes. Any ideas mallard or Rouen?
Four of the anconas are black and white but this last duckie here (number 2)…is it an Ancona?? When I shuffle it’s down around it is very dark underneath but I couldn’t get that part in a picture- this baby was bouncing all over the place like Tigger!!
