Mystery Eggs - Broody Hatch-A-Long

If she is big you can give her maybe like 10 because my hen is small and she cover 7 eggs perfectly. She hatched 7 last time and this time she is sitting on some next 7 fertile eggs due very soon.

btw I think you should check out the thread that pippin commented because a lot of people that are hatching with mana hens are there with different hatch date
It seems her limit is 11, but I just put them under her, so I’ll go back out to make sure they’re all getting warm. The rest are in an incubator.

Miss Prissy accidentally stepped on one of the eggs, but it looks like she only got it with one of her talons. I removed it and am going to try putting wax on it so I can try hatching it in the incubator.
I hope that that goes well, and works, I have never had a chance to do anything like that or get a broody hen to hatch them.I will definitely be watching this:pop

I don’t know if it will or not, honestly. I had to use nail polish instead of wax. There was a lot more cracks than I expected ( I candled it to see all of the cracks ) and I’m not sure when it had actually been cracked, so bacteria might’ve already got in it. We’ll see, I guess.

Well there nothing you can do but try and hope it works.

Miss Prissy is still sitting and doing well! Though, the ducks have been getting into the coop and harassing her. They’ll stand on both sides of her nesting box on the floor and bob their heads over the sides. She hates it and I have to keep chasing them out of the coop. They haven’t touched her and they eventually stopped trying to get in the coop, so hopefully they won’t do it anymore.

So, I got a better flashlight and I’m not sure about the incubator eggs now. I don’t know if it’s too early, but a majority of them don’t look like they have much going on in them. I messed up and didn’t consider the possibility of the nail polish sticking to the turner, so I ended up breaking more shell on the already cracked egg. It didn’t break the membrane, but now there’s a significant part with no shell and I don’t think the polish is going to do much at this point. We’ll see, I guess.

There’s some veins in the last picture, but if it’s looking too well.

Keep incubating them and see what happens. Candle in a few more days
