Mystery rescue hen - barred rock, maybe?

I should add that I’m in the UK, so we don’t really have “easter eggers” as such. But the muffs are definitely coming from someone on that side of things!

I’ve been Googling all your suggestions and I think the best fit is a barred/EE mix - the photos on google look exactly like him!

As a chick s/he was textbook barred rock - black leg wash, white head spot, etc. You can still see the dark leg wash in the pictures, although this is normally just for females, as are the darker feathers, so who knows! Barred rocks are definitely common around here, too, and apparently green tinged feathers are common for British barred rocks too.

I’ve found out where the farmer got the hatching eggs from and it’s another local farm, so I might go up and see what they have in their flock!

It’s below freezing tonight so s/he’s come back in for more cuddles by the fire :love

Thanks for all the help - will keep you posted!
