Ok well I posted a pic of this guy yesterday but failed to show off his feathered legs. I have checked the breed page and other sites searching for this guy. I just can't find one that he looks like that has feathered feet. This guy is HUGE. He is larger that even by biggest barred rock rooster. He is a tall fellow.

Well, he has yellow skin color so he can't be a bad Marans, so I'm going with Partridge Cochin (possibly a mix). Cochins are supposed to have abundant leg-feathering, but sometimes they just don't.

I'm good with a mix. More trying to find out breed characteristics. I wanna let him get a girlfriend from the flock. He is the loser of my first and hopefully only rooster fight but I dearly love how he looks and would like to get some kiddies from him. He seems really passive and good natured for the most part, except for that little fight.

Well...well.. He looks like one of my Jersey Giant/ New Hampshire crosses that I have been breeding in an attempt to get a faster larger bred of chickens. I have given away a few roos to people supposedly for dinner but who knows. Mine have black feet, white skin and feathering like yours. I culled those who didn't have totally black feet and nails.

I am about to give up this project as the roos seem to get large but the hens have remained medium size. I processed and cooked one yesterday and am now down to two roos. Perhaps I should cross them back to some true Jersey Giants. Don't know ...don't have the space.

I think I have a picture of Rusty, the progenator of my current two roos posted on my byc page.

Edited to say that none of mine have feathers on their feet.

Breed could be right. It came from a friend of theirs who runs a hatchery out near Cecilia Kentucky. They got 4 females who were very lovely and 2 roosters I was given one and the other her nephew kept for a breeding project of his. The hens were all black with a bit of the dark blue of the tail and wings. Their feet were more heavily feathered though. Not super heavy just more than his.

Just in love with this fellows looks. I would love to have some of his daughters running around the coop.
