Mystery Rooster

I have recently had a rooster come out of the woods make himself at home in one of our trees. No one on our road has claimed him and no one has responded to our posts about finding a rooster. Since, no one has claimed him and my flock seems to have no issues with him (I only have females ), I'm just curious to see what type of rooster he may be, he has a great temperament and is friendly towards our flock and me.

It looks like a Black Copper Maran to me.

Maybe a mix since he has strange patterning in the front and yellow colored legs. Marans have dark legs.

It's funny how roosters will just appear from nowhere when there are hens around. He looks like either a black copper Marans mix or a Welsummer mix. The leg color doesn't appear to conform with either of those breeds which is why he is a mixed breed. Sure is handsome, though.

Crossbred, Mutt, Barnyard Mix, Hybrid, etc....Which ever you prefer.

Thank you. I was thinking some sort of mix as well because of his legs being a weird color like a yellowish white. I agree he is very handsome and has a great temperament as well. We have had him over a month now and no one will claim him, so I suppose we shall keep him.
