People who gift PFMs do not usually make themselves known, presumably because it can result in future expectations for PFMs.
Just a simple "thank you" is enough; if the person went through the trouble of giving you one, then they probably follow your posts and will see it.
Anonymous gifts-giving can be a lot of fun -- it might be a personal, close friend, or maybe just a nice act of kindness from someone you ended up helping at some point. PFMs themselves can be thank-you gifts, and it's enjoyable to see the recipient happy even if they don't know who to direct their gratitude towards.
