2 of the 5-6 eggs my Aunt gave me to feed to my chickens were rotten. She said they all bobbed when float tested. Bobbing is when they're still at the bottom of the water with a slight lift at the air cell end. According to the float test those are still okay. The rotten eggs that were float tested proved this test as a sham.

I'm glad I got the 3 chicks, & are eating proper feed. They're about 10 weeks old.
My Aunt has her remaining chicks eating Layer feed with the rest of her birds now, I overheard. They're way to young to be eating layer. Heck none of the birds she's raising now actually needs layer as they aren't high production breeds, & some of which are males.

She's also still convinced that 20% protien is too high for them, & is now mixing in corn in their 16% layer dropping the protien, & nutrients down even lower to about 14% -13% protien.

If they get lots of bugs to supplement the feed that might be ok protein
