BR. 2....... 0. ........ 2

So ♡ means the egg looks good
○ means little or no growth
?? means something is growing but. Not 100% happy with it.
BR. Is a blood ring.
I took out 2 of the oxine eggs, 3 of the unwashed eggs and 2 washed eggs. These were ones i was sure were not viable. 7 total.

Of 19 oxine washed eggs, i took 6 more out for a total of 13 eggs left in that group. The washed in water group lost only 1 of 14, leaving 13 in that group. Unwashed eggs lost 4 of 19 leaving a total of 15.
I suspect the concentration of oxine may have been to high, with one capful in a pie plate of water. It will be interesting to see what hatches! The incubator says we are on day 14. So halfway. :wee

Yikes, Sorry I haven't been able to post recently. There's been a whole lot of stuff going on for me, The Serama eggs are goners so I just set some more eggs, This time they're geese eggs, 12 total. Half are washed with just warm water, the rest are pretty dirty.. No broodies this time so lets hope my horrible incubating skills don't kill all the eggs :th
The chicks are still coming on may the 21st so I'm still going to try out the fermented feed and see how that goes.. I just need to finish building my pig pen so I can kick out my pigs out of the brooding pen I'm suppose to put the chicks in :barnie

I had terrible luck on my last 2 batches of guinea eggs, one of the incubators went up to 133°! So i tossed the whole batch. I have some eggs on lockdown, sure hope they hatch!
Good luck with your eggs!

The first idea i want to challenge is that you should not wash eggs. I have a bunch of guinea eggs i am ready to set. Washing one third with plain water, washing 1/3 with Oxine and water, 1/3 will be the control, unwashed. Be warned they are guinea eggs and take 28 days to hatch!
I'd rather not wash, IMHO I think it's probably better not to. I had a better hatch not washing but there is a lot of factors other than the washing and sanitizing that are involved so I can't say it was the washing. And I don't know if those hatches would have improved leaving them poopy/muddy in the incubator but my guess would be not, Lol.
