The massive dove swooped down to the ground, her brown wings and white, glossy, body feathers looking as if they were etched from stone. As she walked around, bobbing her head to see further, the dove spotted something good to eat, a freshly growing fern. She had been looking for scraps, or maybe a small rodent, but plants were fine too. A deer walked past her, its head just brushing the top of her chest. Earlier, she had seen a large, golden dragon eat this deer's mate, but she felt no pity, as it is how life goes.

Incendia watched her curiously for a few moments, her wings beating furiously so she could hover.

Incendia flew in a half-circle around the other bird. "Incendia," she introduced herself. "Phoenix, bird, and queen of all lands." She cackled, blowing some smoke out of her cere for whatever odd reason the firebird had for doing anything. "No, not really, and I suppose you must be the ruler...uh...whoever you are. You look like your name begins with 'N'. Hello!"
