I know a few people are looking for Lav Orps. I would love to have a few chicks or even hatching eggs. If they are available at the swap great. If not I can deal. There really isn't anything I really want at the moment. Hard to decided when I have 8 Pekin eggs in the bator.
I have 20 buff orp chicks and 20 salmon faverolle chicks coming the end of March. I also have 10 welsh harlequin ducks and 5 Buff Geese coming the first week of April. (We already warned the mailman.) We may have some of the chicks, geese or welsh for trade or sale. Not sure we want to see what quality we get and what the survival rate is.
As for the Pekin we are playing it by ear. We are not even sure that the eggs will incubate. The Pekins may be part hound, because they dig a hole in the flower beds and lay the eggs there. All but one does this. The one that doesn't lay in the flower beds lays in the middle of the driveway. We have had more than 3 dozen eggs found and none have been either fertile or viable. The ones in the bator atm we found in two days shortly after they were laid.
