Naah na na I got an egg! *Updated w/ pictures

No eggs here either! And it's been 21 weeks! I'm getting so bummed... I wanted to ask also - should i be looking all over the yard for eggs? they free range most of the day. How do they know to lay eggs in the nest boxes? I just put a few golf balls in the boxes but, how do they know what their eggs look like when they've never laid any?

Do you have RIRs or another breed? I've heard some breeds begin laying at different times. :aww

Yeah, they are Polish. Which I think means I'm lucky if I get any eggs at all!

wannahave, I was starting to wonder the same things. I have noticed lately that my 2 orps with the red combs seem to be walking with their legs wider apart the last few days and same with one of our australorp hens. Her stance has changed and she is making these long bbbrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccckkkkkkk sounds. It is the cutest thing I have heard. Are those more signs? They have a favouritetree to lay under outside. Should I be checking under that? I know they are still a little young. Almost 17 weeks now.

I've gotten 2 eggs the past two days and both were outside the nest boxes - one was behind the box and the other was just laying out in the pen. So look everywhere - kinda like an Easter egg hunt!
