Nail trimming

Those nails look normal to me as well. I think in most cases a healthy bird will maintain their nails just fine by walking around and scratching at things. If the nail gets long enough to interfere with the way the bird walks or puts its toes on the ground, then I'd trim.

:oops:I tried to trim my roosters nail as in singular nail it grew funny. Used small nail clippers. First clip no problem second clip blood everywhere.
Had to pack it for a week it was a mess. Then I had to deal with the fear of infection. If you look closely they do not have a free edge or a quick (like cats) it’s a soft tissue that hardens into the nail. I’m So SORRY I ever messed with his oddly shaped nail. Don’t know what possessed me in the first place. I know better!!
