Naked Neck Olive Egger . Watch ‘em grow thread!

nn.PNG

I hatched 2 NN/frizzles (one didn't have the NN gene), and one olive egger. The NN shown is also butt naked, and back naked.

I found out my cock bird is a dominant white. I think this means all my crosses will have red pyle type patterns it also presents some opportunities for washed out grey in tail and neck feather areas. Should be very interesting color and egg patterns.

this gene will also create some beautiful washed out partridge patterns when crossed with my dark Brahma or partridge Cochin. They should lay olive eggs as well.

My NNEEs (I call them knees 😂) hatched yesterday hopefully. Waiting to be told when I can come and grab them
I think the one I have hatched so far is a male. It’s got some solid red feathers coming in around wings and tail . I’ve got more nnee in the incubator that should hatch in 9 days. I’m finding the speckled eggs I get from my NN turn out to be early quitters I’ve only got 4/9 that look promising.

No naked necks have hatched yet! One more egg is pipped. My rooster must be something other than dominant white because I’ve got a dark chick! Testing out my chickens genetics is so fun.
