Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Same here, if I were to get ducks again it would be muscovies and nothing else.. except maybe for some shelduck species.

They are delicious! Especially in yellow curry, mmm! Never knew their feet were eaten though.

Oh yes...they are just as good as chicken feet, perhaps better stir fried. Since you don't have ducks, here is a place you can order some very reasonably. Full of all the same goodies like condroitin, colagen, elastin protiens as well as glycosaminoglycans and lots of other important dietary essentials to be found in chicken feet and most other well prepared bone, cartilage etc.

EDIT: For stir fry, I boil them 'done' before I pat them dry and fry, usually with just a little oil, chili peppers...deglaze with a cup of broth and a few other Chinese goodies that strike my fancy. lolol

They're even very good, simply fried crispy with the peppers and make a dipping sauce.

Major thanks for the link! It's not easy to find duck around here without the hassle of butchering.

Also thanks for the invite(other thread)- I've wanted to visit the East for a long time, it would be great to 'stop by' and say hi some day... you could even whip up a nice supper too.. ;)

Out of all of my birds she's the only one churning them out. My brahma is 2 weeks younger and has only laid one egg so far. So out of 6 hens only one is actually being productive and surprise it's the turken.

Been trying to hatch out some frizzled NNs for Cliff, but the three I just hatched are not frizzles. Have 3 more in the bator and more going in Friday! Here are the three I just hatched.

I've got a buff and a rir chick sitting in the brooder now waiting on you to hatch her so they can be friends.

We all do things on our own time around here...different things have to be done at certain times, like milking, for instance. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are 'catch as catch can' but we always try to eat dinner together, even if it is around 9 PM every day. It may not always be fancy but we generally eat what is grown or produced here, with few exceptions.

If you do come I may have to spring for a big bag of duck feet! lol You will need their vital components to grow the skin back on your hands and knees after a couple or so days scrounging over slate escarpments with a mason's hammer and a trowel!!!
